AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA 2015 SANTA SOFIA
Corvina and Corvinone (70%), Rondinella (30%), grown in Valpolicella Classica, in hillish vineyard with stony and marl soils situated in the towns of Negrar, Fumane, San Pietro in Cariano and Marano, with a drying process of the grapes for a period of about 90 to 120 days. The ageing in big Slavonian oak barrels is of nearly 36 months, and at least 12 months in bottle.
Deep ruby red, intense with garnet hues, nose with fine aromas of ripe cherries, blackcurrant, plums; you perceive spicy and roasting notes; balsamic sensations and tobacco hints complete the frame. The sip is full and elegant, offset tannins, alcoholic warm balanced by a good citrus freshness, which makes the wine important but pleasant to drink. It closes with cherry and almonds tastes, long persistence. An elegant wine, intense, complex, refined.
